This is the ESPN televised version of the end of the 2008 WSOP Main Event between Ivan Demidov and Peter Eastgate. Eastgate, at 22 years old won the event and $9,119,517. He won by beating Ivan Demidov on a hand where Demidov made two pair on the turn, while that same card gave Peter Eastgate a wheel. Beyond his 2nd place finish at the 2008 WSOP Main Event, Ivan Demidov also took down 3rd place at the WSOP Europe, for a combined winnings of a US converted $6,287,409. Of that amount, about a half million of it was for his 3rd place finish in the WSOP Europe, while the rest comes from his second place at the WSOP Main Event here in Las Vegas.
Peter Eastgate broke Phil Hellmuths record as the youngest winner of the WSOP Main Event. Hellmuth, who did it at the age of 24 wasn’t available for comment after the event ended. However, I’m pretty sure I saw him later that night walking north on Las Vegas Blvd drowning himself in a bottle of Cisco, swinging his shirt in the air, and screaming “I’m the greatest poker player in the world” to crowds of confused tourists.

This is Chino Rheem’s post bust-out video at the 2008 WSOP Main Event final table. We gotta give Chino credit for acting like a class act during the main event, and even after his bust-out he was a classy dude. He’s a players player, and although we’d like to have seen him get the win, his 7th place finish garnered a fat $1,772,650 prize. During this interview, Chino Rheem doesn’t shy away from admitting that his finish was a dissapointment for him. If you hadn’t heard of Chino before the 2008 WSOP, he’s a well known player amongst other top name pro’s. The 28 year old, Los Angeles resident went into the final table with 10,230,000 chips, which was the 7th largest chip stack. With as much experience as Chino has, it’s no wonder that he was expecting to move up the ladder. Anyhow, this is one of the Chino Rheem videos that have come from the 2008 WSOP Main Event final table, we’ll post others as we find them.
This is a compilation video of the now infamous final table at the 2008 WSOP $50K HORSE event where Scotty Nguyen got hammered and belligerent. Obviously Scotty picked the wrong time to get sloshed, but without being hypocritical here, who hasn’t gotten hammered and acted like an ass at some point when they shouldn’t have?
