If you aren’t familiar with FTOPS (Full Tilt Online Poker Series), this is a tournament series similar to the World Series of Poker. With 25 events which include Hold’em, Omaha, Stud, Razz and mixed game events, the guaranteed prize pool for the series is over $18 million! Most of the FTOPS XII events will have a direct buy-in $109 – $535, with a couple exceptions.
Event #12 will have a direct buy-in of $1060 and a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million. This is a 6 handed NL Hold’em event hosted by Mark Brecher which has an ante starting from hand #1. This event will take place on May 11th at 21:00 ET.
Event #22 will have a direct buy-in of $2620 and a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million! This event is hosted by Patrik Antonius and will be one of the highlights of the series. This is a NL Hold’em 2 day event. Satellite tournaments for this event are going to be packed full of donkeys trying to get in, so this is a good chance for smart players to win a seat into a major event. This event takes place on Saturday May 16th at 14:00 ET.
The Main Event is event #25, hosted by Jennifer Harman. It has a direct buy-in of $535, is a NL Hold’em event, and has a the largest guaranteed prize pool of the series at $2.5 million.This event will be held on the final day of the FTOPS XII series, on Sunday, May 17th at 18:00 ET.
FTOPS XI Main Event winner Adam ‘csimmsux’ Geyer beat out a field of 5,287 players and took home over $456,000. Everyone at the final table made $34,000 or more. This time around the event should be even bigger as the series continues to grow in popularity and prestige.
