This is a video of Justin Bonomo at the 2009 WSOP talking about busting out of tournaments, bad beats, mistake plays by opponents and various other WSOP related things. He’s thinking about playing in two tournaments at the same time to help his chances at winning a bracelet.
Justin is still looking for his first World Series of Poker bracelet, and it looks like he’s putting a lot of pressure on himself to get one. Although he only has 3 cashes so far this year, he’s already made $420,927, mostly from a 5th place finish in Event #2, the $40,000 NL Hold’em tournament.
Bonomo is a baller, we expect to see more of him before the 2009 WSOP is over. As a Bodog Poker sponsored player, you can sign up and play with Justin at the site. Bodog is also offering a huge bonus of 110% up to $550 for new players right now. If you’d like to play at Bodog, write down Bodog Referral Number1602945 to get your bonus, then register here.
Most players have heard about the great software Bodog has, but what most people don’t realize is that there are a lot of middle & high stakes players at Bodog as well. They also have the best heads-up tournaments, and the loosest players at any online poker site. Big profits for good players.

This is a cool video in MTV Cribs style of Scotty Nguyen’s house. His backyard is badass, and he lives it up big time. He says he spends $3000/month on his gas bill (mostly to heat his pool), $1500 a month on his power bill, and $1000 a month to water all his plants and trees. That’s $5500 a month for utilities!
He also introduces us to his sorta milfy wife, his kiddo, and his cars. Between this video and some others we’ve seen of Scotty recently, it looks as if he’s working hard to repair his reputation after a drunken & belligerent final table at the 2008 WSOP.
No worries baby, we still love ya!
The 2009 World Series of Poker hasn’t gotten off to a good start for Scotty Nguyen. He has only one cash so far, $33,668 for an 11th place finish in Event #37, the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better Championship tournament.
Don’t count Scotty out, he’s one of the fiercest competitors in the world. Don’t let the drinking and typically fun-loving attitude fool you. History, bracelets, and money are more important to Scotty than he lets on.
At the 2008 WSOP, Scotty won the $50,000 HORSE event, considered to be the most important tournament to the top players in the world. With it’s high buy-in amount and demand for skill at 5 different games, only the top players in the world play in it. This is the players tournament, and we’re predicting another final table for Nguyen in the 2009 event.
The $50,000 HORSE event starts on June 26th, 4 days from now. If you didn’t already know, the broadcast schedule for the 2009 WSOP on ESPN flat sucks. They’re only showing 4 events, including the Ante Up For Africa Charity Tournament (yawn), and the Champions Invitational Tournament (always boring). They’re airing this junk instead of the $50K HORSE event, which leads us to wonder wtf ESPN is thinking. Maybe it’s time for the WSOP to look for a change over to GSN or another network.
* Did you know that Bodog Poker has the loosest tables in online poker? Did you know they have lots of middle & high-stakes action? Did you know they have the best software and heads-up tournaments? They’re also offering new players a bonus of 110% up to $550 right now. If you want to try out Bodog Poker, write down Referral Number1602945, and register here.

This video with Gavin Smith starts off stupid, but gets pretty funny, with Gavin Smith stating that he might have to kill Joe Sebok.
Gavin has 2 cashes so far at the 2009 World Series of Poker. He took 10th place in Event #21, the $3k HORSE tournament. Then he placed 23rd in Event #25, the $2500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better tournament. Gavin Smith has collected $30,211 in winnings, and probably lost half a million in prop bets.

In this 2009 WSOP video, Nam Le talks about playing in two tournaments at once. Not only is he playing two tournaments, he’s in the money in one of them, and close in the other – just sick. When I grow up I want to be like 50% of Nam Le.
Aside from these two events, it hasn’t been a great World Series of Poker for Nam. I don’t remember reading anything about volume poker while I was learning game theory. Maybe that’ll be in Sklansky’s next book.

*Update – Jeff Lisandro has just won his 3rd bracelet of the 2009 WSOP. For more information on this story, read this article on Jeff Lisandro at the 2009 WSOP.
This is a video with Jeffrey Lisandro who has already won two bracelets at the 2009 WSOP. First he won Event #16, the $1500 Seven Card Stud tournament. Then he won Event #37, the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8 or Better Championship Event. With 3 other cashes on top of his two wins, Jeff is tied for the lead with Ville Wahlbeck for the 2009 WSOP Player of the Year Award.
In total, Lisandro has won $619,131 so far, with plenty of events left to come. While we’ve liked Jeff ever since he threatened to knock Prahlad Friedman’s teeth out a couple years ago, in this video Lisandro looks like a gay mafioso.
